What research use only actually means

Compounds of this kind are not licensed medicines in the UK. They can lawfully be bought, sold and held for laboratory research. That is the whole of the permission, and it is worth stating plainly rather than hiding behind the phrase.

What a supplier may not do is advertise them for human use, describe how a person should take them, or make claims about what they do in a person. That is advertising an unlicensed medicine — an offence under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, enforced by the MHRA, and a matter of criminal law rather than of anyone’s terms of service.

So we don’t. There is no protocol here, no dosing page and no chart of expected results, and there never will be. Why there is no dosing guide sets out the reasoning, including the part that is about you rather than about us: a supplier willing to write one has already shown you how it treats the rules.

Five things to check before you order anywhere

Including here. Every one of these is verifiable by you in a few minutes, which is the only reason any of them are worth listing.

    A report tied to your batch, not to the product

    One certificate displayed against a whole product line tells you about a batch someone else received. The number that matters is the one on the carton in your hand.

  2. 02

    A verification key that resolves somewhere else

    A PDF hosted by the seller proves nothing a seller could not have produced. A key that opens the same report on the laboratory's own server is a different kind of evidence.

  3. 03

    Content as well as purity

    Purity is the proportion of what is there. Content is how much is there. A sample can be highly pure and still be well under or over what the label says, and those are separate failures.

  4. 04

    One named manufacturing origin

    A vendor who cannot say where a compound was made, in one sentence, usually has more than one answer depending on the batch.

  5. 05

    A named legal entity and a real address

    Much of this market trades through shell companies registered nowhere near where they claim to operate. It is a five-minute check and it is worth doing on every supplier.

Is it legal to buy research peptides in the UK?

Yes, for laboratory research use. Compounds of this kind are not licensed medicines in the UK and can lawfully be bought, sold and held for research. What is not lawful is a supplier advertising them for human use, describing how a person should take them, or making claims about what they do in a person — that is advertising an unlicensed medicine, an offence under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, and the MHRA enforces it.

Why won't you tell me how to use these?

Because we are not permitted to and because anyone who does is telling you something about themselves. A supplier willing to write a protocol is a supplier willing to break the rule that separates a research supplier from an unlicensed pharmacy. We set out our reasoning in full in the journal.

What does an independent laboratory report actually prove?

That a named laboratory, with no commercial relationship to us, received a sample from a batch and measured it. For the GLP-1 pens it is a blind test: the laboratory is not told which compound the sample is and identifies it themselves, which is a stronger check than confirming what we have already claimed. Every report gives the measured content in mg per ml. Purity is reported where a pen holds a single compound; a blend is reported as a measured content per compound instead. It does not prove anything about what the compound does, and no report can.

What is the difference between research grade and pharmaceutical grade?

They are different regulatory regimes rather than different quality tiers, and the distinction is about documentation, licensing and manufacturing oversight rather than about a purity figure. The journal sets out what each term does and does not commit a supplier to.

Where are Biovanta's compounds made?

Switzerland. One facility, one process, every batch, and orders are dispatched from the UK. Nothing is blended from multiple sources or re-labelled along the way.

Do you ship outside the UK?

We dispatch from the UK and also ship to the EU and EEA. International orders carry a flat charge per item and the buyer accepts import responsibility. The shipping policy has the full terms.
